Hello, my name is Mike
Moncrief, and I am the forty-third mayor of Fort Worth, Texas. In 1999, our
sesquicentennial year, a dream was born … a dream to create something tangible
that would leave a rich and lasting legacy for the citizens of Fort Worth. The
Fort Worth Timeline Project is the beginning of that dream. If we have done our
job well, this website will never stop growing. It will grow forward as new
events occur which shape our destiny. It will grow backward as more and more
information comes to light from the unrevealed legacies of our past. I would
like to thank the citizens of Fort Worth – past, present and future - for all
that they do to make ours one of the most diverse and culturally rich cities in
America. I hope you enjoy our site and feel inspired to help make it grow.
